A page can load normally while its contact form fails. A button may stop responding, validation may reject a valid entry, or the form may never reach its confirmation message. A quiet inbox is a reason to check, but it is not proof that a form is broken.
Walk through the whole form
- Open the live page as a visitor, without relying on a logged-in administrator view.
- Complete required fields with clearly labelled test data.
- Follow any extra steps and conditional questions.
- Submit the form and check for a confirmation message or thank-you page.
- If receipt matters, check the destination separately: an inbox, saved entry, or other expected record.
Use care with live forms: a test can send notifications and trigger the same workflows as a customer submission.
Read the failed-test evidence
FormTester 365 results include a screenshot, the browser or content-verification result, and any add-on results. The result also lists the inputs the test found and how it filled them. When a step fails, review the error or issue shown and any suggested fix, then compare the screenshot with the live form. This gives the site owner or developer a starting point for reproducing the problem.
A failure visible only to visitors
In one customer case, a form's verification nonce was cached for visitors who were not logged in. Submissions then failed verification even though an administrator could see a working form. Scheduled testing exposed the public-page failure, and the customer was able to investigate the cache behavior and resolve it quickly. A logged-out test is especially useful when the administrator and visitor experiences differ.
Understand what passed
Browser success and downstream delivery are separate checks. Seeing a thank-you page does not prove that a notification email arrived or a CRM stored the lead. The Gravity Forms add-on can verify an entry through its REST API and delete the test entry. For a form that sends notifications, you can add its FormTester 365 monitoring address as a BCC recipient where the notification settings allow it. Receiving that copy shows that a notification was sent to the monitoring address; it does not confirm delivery to the primary recipient.
Keep checking after today
Updates and changes can affect a form that previously worked. Schedule repeat tests instead of relying only on a launch-day check. FormTester 365 includes daily testing on every plan and emails you when a test fails.
